Mark 3 and 4 continues with the opening moments of Jesus' ministry. I am struck by, how from the very beginning, Jesus was so clear yet his closest followers let his words go in one ear and out the other... But the mission was clear; heal the suffering, revise the institutions, and grow the Kingdom.
And even though they continually don't seem to understand, through the teachings, the healings, the miracles, Jesus still has compassion on his disicples. When they panic about the storm and the rocky boat, he hears them. Even them. And he calms the wind and the waves. Jesus doesn't give up on them. And isn't that comforting. Jesus doesn't give up on them and he doesn't give up on us. Jesus literally chastises his disicples for being clueless, in one ear and out the other. But not only does he come to their rescue, he is with them in the boat in the first place.
Thank God Jesus is the kind of guy who is in the boat with his friends when the storms come and doesn't get mad when they act like idiots.
